Frequently Asked Questions About Shipping Containers
Buying a shipping container is a solid investment, and we want you to feel confident about the purchase. Below you'll find answers to the questions we hear most often. If you don't see what you're looking for, give our team a call at (612) 324-5309 and we'll be happy to help. You can also check out our Buyer's Guide for more detailed information about the purchasing process.
Are Your Containers Weatherproof?Yes. The terms "weatherproof" and "weathertight" are used interchangeably in our industry, and all our standard containers come as wind and weather tight. That's the baseline for every customer purchase we make. Before any container leaves the depot for your property, it passes an inspection to confirm it meets this standard.
The only exception is if a customer specifically requests an "as is" container. These are sold at a lower price point but are not guaranteed to be weathertight and carry no warranty from us. We always make sure buyers understand exactly what they're getting before finalizing that type of purchase. What Payment Options Do You Accept?Minnesota Shipping Containers accepts all major credit cards, which is the fastest and most common way to pay. For businesses, we also accept purchase orders and invoice payments. If you're interested in financing, reach out to us directly. We're adding customer financing options for qualified buyers and can walk you through what's available.

Can I Choose The Color Of My Container?
For used containers, unfortunately no. The inventory at local depots varies constantly, and we can't guarantee any specific color. You might get blue, gray, tan, green, or something else entirely. The good news is that shipping containers are easy to paint if you want a specific look.
For new one trip containers, we can sometimes specify gray or tan as color options. We're working with manufacturers to provide more choices, but those are the only options available right now. We'll update this page when that changes.

Where Do You Deliver Shipping Containers?
We deliver throughout the entire state of Minnesota. That includes Minneapolis, Saint Paul, Rochester, Duluth, Saint Cloud, Mankato, and everywhere in between. If you have a valid address that shows up on Google Maps, we can get a container there.
How Much Space Is Needed For Delivery?
For a 20 foot container, we recommend at least 75 feet of cleared straight line space in front of the final destination. For a 40 foot container, plan on at least 100 feet. The area should also be free from overhead obstructions like power lines, tree branches, and anything else that might get in the way.
Can an experienced driver deliver in a tighter space? Sometimes, yes. But it gets riskier. The delivery company operates as a separate entity from us, so they would be responsible for any property damage that occurs during placement. Planning ahead and ensuring proper clearance makes everything go smoother.

Do You Offer Rent To Own Programs?
Yes, we have a limited rent to own program available for qualified buyers. This can be a good option if you want to spread payments out over time while eventually owning your container outright. Contact us to learn more about how it works and whether you qualify.
